Because I live in Guangzhou, China, I reside in a sub-tropical region where the seasonal changes are not quite the same as where I grew up, near Toronto in Canada. Autumn here means cool mornings and evenings, however, it can still be quite hot during the day and not as many leaves change colours and fall down. I decided to get creative during a photography after school program with some students, joining them in some ‘nature’ photography around the school. From the photographs, one can truly see how different autumn is here compared to a region that truly has four distinct seasons.

Below, you can witness just how green it is here even though it’s already November. In the Greater Toronto Area, several trees had their leaves change colours and have fallen down. What a difference between the two regions!

Another enjoyable aspect about the autumn here in Guangzhou is that autumn blossoms and flowers are blooming around the city areas and parks which adds a nice touch of beauty to the areas. The weather is absolutely incredible, with the end of the rainy season which takes place over the summer. Although this means a risk of forest fires in the region, the weather itself is pleasant to be in.

That’s it for this post on autumn in Guangzhou. What are your thoughts on the photographs taken? Lastly, what is autumn like where you reside?
