A Stroll Through Ma’AnShan Park

Ma’AnShan Park is a medium sized park right nearby my home here in Guangzhou, China. Although not particularly famous, the park boasts several paths and steps which traverse one through vibrant greenery including a diversity of different types of trees and other plants. I’m no expert when it comes to the names of different plants but one of my favourites to see are bamboo. Take a look at some of the greenery the park has to offer:

Ma’AnShan park is a fantastic place to go for a stroll, exercise, go for a jog, or to sit and relax in a peaceful environment. While strolling through the park, I found a short tower which allowed me to take some good shots of the different types of trees that can be seen in the park with a subtle background of Huadu, the section of Guangzhou the park is located in.

At the top of this short tower were other people relaxing, enjoy their peace the park has to offer. I am thinking of returning there myself to enjoy reading a book while enjoying the peacefulness of the park.

Below are some of the various shots I took of the bamboo at the park. If you’ve never seen bamboo, they are the tall stick-like grasses in the photos below (bamboo is technically a type of grass rather than a tree as some believe).

Finally, the park contains various unique rocks and statues with gravings of different words, phrases or even paragraphs. They bring out a particular uniqueness to the stroll through the park as one adventures through its many paths and steps.

This book was quite popular with the locals in the area, it took some patience to get a photo of it without any people reading it or any kids playing on it. The whole theme of the park is to encourage people to be drug-free, which is a wonderful theme to base the park on. It has key messages across the park which state some types of drugs, the dangers of them, and other bits of information such as what to do during a typhoon or a flood.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post displaying the vibrant greenery of Ma’AnShan Park in Huadu, Guangzhou, China. I aim to visit this park at least once a week whether it’s for a nice stroll or to go for a jog. It brings a little peace to my life being surrounded by all the beauty it has to offer.
