Exploring the Trails of Nankunshan

探寻南昆山的步道

Nankunshan is a national park in Huizhou, China, boasting some spectacular charcoal grilled whole chickens in the town while containing beautiful nature trails just outside of the town areas. While hiking along the river, I was able to observe and take shots of several waterfalls of various sizes along the not-so-easy to hike trail. The waterfalls bring a sense of peacefulness as one treks down the trail along the river. I was able to take quite a few nice shots of the various waterfalls.

南昆山是中国惠州的一个国家公园，镇上有一些特别美味的炭烤整鸡，而在镇外则有美丽的自然小径。在沿河徒步时，我观察并拍摄了多处不同规模的瀑布，虽然这条徒步小径不算容易。沿着河边的步道徒步时，瀑布带来了一种宁静的感觉。我拍了不少漂亮的瀑布照片。

The trail was not only about waterfalls, it boasts some stunning bamboo and other vibrant green plants and unique water formations down the river. Some plants were quite unfamiliar to me having grown up in Canada which peeked my interest. I took some experimental shots of the greenery around as I trekked down the trail. The trail down the river was truly a wonderful sight, bringing peace to the mind; resting the mind being in nature.

这条小径不仅仅是瀑布，还有一些令人惊叹的竹林和其他生机勃勃的绿色植物，以及河流沿途独特的水体景观。由于我在加拿大长大，有些植物对我来说很陌生，这激起了我的兴趣。我沿着小径走下去，尝试拍摄了周围的绿色植物。沿河的小径真是美不胜收，让人心旷神怡；在大自然中让心灵得到休息。

Lastly, although the forest was very quiet, there I was able to spot two types of spiders which caught my interest. I’m not sure of the name of these, but if you do know, please feel free to share in the comments! The first spider has a spectacular, enormous web which stretched out at about 2 meters apart. The spider itself has a unique colour to it and was quite large. Unfortunately, the second spider was a lot more difficult for me to take a clear shot but it looked like a large, skinny, black spider which reminded me of the ‘daddy long legs’ found in my home city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
